At 7:30 a.m. on October 5, the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center of Region 3 was reported that fisherman Tran Van Thi (born in 1979 in Tam Hai commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province) had inguinal hernia when working on trawler QNa 90109 TS with Nguyen Tan Diep at the helm. Since the fisherman had fever, the trawler’s captain contacted the mainland and asked for medical support.
Immediately, the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center of Region 3 asked the Border Post of Phu Quy Port Border Gate to give support to the ill fisherman. The Border Post of Phu Quy Port Border Gate then connected with and guided trawler QNa 90109 TS to take the patient to the island.
At 7 p.m. on the same day, trawler QNa 90109 TS successfully took fisherman Tran Van Thi to Phu Quy port. The Border Post of Phu Quy Port Border Gate received the patient and took him to the Military-Civilian Medical Center of Phu Quy district for emergency aid and treatment.
Fisherman Tran Van Thi was then taken ashore for further treatment.
