Vice State President visits Border Post of Duong Dong Port Border Gate
PANO - On May 16, during a working visit to Phu Quoc special zone, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and worked with officers and soldiers of the Border Post of Duong Dong Port Border Gate under the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command.
Reporting to the State leader, Colonel Duong Van Hon, head of the border post, emphasized that since 2025, the unit has intensified patrols and strict control over maritime areas, effectively carried out measures against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, while accelerating information dissemination among vessel owners, captains and fishermen to ensure their compliance with regulations.

In crime prevention and control, the unit has proactively followed local situational developments and focused on combating drug-related crimes, smuggling, trade fraud, illegal entry and exit, and handling “three-no” fishing vessels. The unit has strictly maintained discipline, strengthened force building, and recorded no violations of law among officers and soldiers.
Addressing at the working session, Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan highly appreciated the achievements of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard in managing and protecting sovereignty over the Southwestern border and maritime areas, and in combating crime. Since the beginning of this year, the An Giang Provincial Border Guard has handled hundreds of law violations.

The State leader asked the local border guard force to continue enhancing political steadfastness, improving their professional expertise, applying digital technology in border, sea and islands management and protection, proactively grasping situational development, and avoiding passivity or surprise in any circumstances.
