Tan Binh Border Station upgraded to international one
PANO - The Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command held a ceremony on April 14 to announce and hand over the Ministry of National Defense (MND)’s decision on the reorganization of Tan Binh Border Station and Tan Binh Border Checkpoint.
According to the decision, Tan Binh Border Station was upgraded to the Border Station of Tan Nam International Border Gate, while Tan Nam Border Checkpoint was promoted to the Border Checkpoint of International Border Gate.
Located in Tan Binh commune, Tan Bien district, the Tan Nam International Border Gate has played an important role as it has facilitated trading activities between Vietnam’s Tay Ninh province and Cambodia’s Prey Veng province. In recent years, the quantity and value of goods traded through the border gate have increased significantly.
Therefore, the reorganization of Tan Binh Border Guard Station into Tan Nam International Border Gate Border Station is in line with the actual situation and the requirements of tasks in the new situation.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Van Thang emphasized the significance of the reorganization of the border post. He said that the upgrade of Tan Nam International Border Gate Border Station marked a new period of socio-economic development of the province and the unit. It will raise the capability of managing exit and entry and trading activities and ensuring security in border areas, thus promoting socio-economic development in Tan Bien border district in particular and Tay Ninh province in general.
The province’s leader expected that troops of Tan Nam International Border Gate Border Station will try their best to fulfill the missions of managing and protecting political security in border areas and border gates.
Tay Ninh province has three international border gates: Moc Bai, Xa Mat, and Tan Nam; three national border gates, namely Ka Tum, Chang Riec, and Phuoc Tan; and ten auxiliary border gates.
