PANO - A mission from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defence, led by Senior Lieutenant General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Minister of National Defence laid wreath to pay homage to late General Le Trong Tan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Chief of the General Staff and ex-Deputy Defence Minister, at Mai Dich Cemetery, Hanoi.
Representatives from departments, units and late General Le Trong Tan’s relatives also joined the mission on September 30th.

General Ty briefed the late General’s biography, career and great contributions to the revolution of Vietnam and to the building of the VPA. General Ty also stressed that the 100th birth anniversary of General Le Trong Tan on October 1st takes place at the time when the Party and the Army are organizing various activities to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the VPA and the 25th anniversary of the Whole People’s Defence Day. The celebration of the late General Le Trong Tan’s birth anniversary is to honor his great devotions to the Party, the Nation and the Army and at the same time to educate patriotic and revolutionary tradition to officers, troops, especially young generations.
The mission offered incenses and flowers to the late General and expressed their respect for and gratitude to General Le Trong Tan, the loyal communist, the strategist, the creative, resolute and foresighted military officer and the righteous commander with wholehearted love for troops.
