Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hung Oanh, the Rector of the school, underlined that over the past nearly 50 years of building, fighting and growth, generations of officers, instructors, cadets, staff, and soldiers of the school have cultivated and built good traditions. With outstanding achievements in various fields in the 2014-2024 period, the school has been honored with many noble awards from the Party and State. Attentively, on December 22, 2024, the State President signed a decision to present the title of the Hero of the People’s Armed Forces to the school.
In his remarks, General Nguyen Tan Cuong applauded the profound outcomes obtained by the school in training and education, military building, and defense reinforcement, contributing to the building of the socialism and the protection of the Fatherland.

Gen. Cuong required the school to continue to uphold its heroic traditions and build a strategic plan for the school's development until 2030, with a vision to 2045, striving to be among the top military universities by 2030, meeting the basic standards of a smart, modern school associated with digital transformation. This will lay a solid foundation for achieving a high position in the national higher education ranking and quality assessment system.
The school should boost fundamental and comprehensive reforms in education and training; continue to innovate the goals and training models in accordance with the modernization of the military; promote standardizing and building a contingent of instructors and educational managers with excellent expertise, meeting the school’s development in the new period. The school also should foster innovation, creativity and continuously enhance its position and prestige as a leading center for military social sciences and humanities research in the country and the military.
