National Defense Academy starts new school year
PANO – The National Defense Academy held a ceremony on September 22 to open the 2020-2021 school year in the presence of Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh.

The event was also attended by Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha, Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lieutenant General Tran Viet Khoa, Director of the National Defense Academy, stated that the school has actively renewed its training contents and methods as well as provided more time for self-study and activities for trainees. It has fulfilled the training plans for 24 courses with 1,057 graduated cadets while regularly accelerating external activities with foreign partners.
Addressing the event, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh congratulated the academy on its achievements over the past school year. He stressed that the National Defense Academy is the top training establishment for generals and senior officers of the military as well as high-ranking officials of the Party and State. Therefore, the school should continue embracing higher levels’ instructions on national defense and security affairs, and enhancing international cooperation on training.

Binh also required the academy to focus on building strong Party organizations and a comprehensively strong school, contributing to fulfilling their assigned missions in the 2020-2021 school year.
