In his opening remarks, General Toi reaffirmed that the committee has actively overcome hardships, collaborated with relevant agencies to fulfill its action plans, and promoted its role in monitoring the legislative work and providing timely advice on important issues of the country.

In 2021, the committee was assigned to chairing the examination of the draft Law on Mobile Police, monitoring the progress of building three legal projects, examining the N.A.’s draft resolution on amending and supplementing the Law and Ordinance Building Program in 2021 and building the Law and Ordinance Building Program in 2022.

Regarding external affairs, the organ collaborated with relevant agencies to host receptions and working sessions with visiting foreign delegations while taking part in external activities following the direction of the N.A. leaders.

Speaking at the conference, Sr. Lt. Gen. Tran Quang Phuong recalled outstanding achievements of the National Assemly in general and the NA Committee for National Defense and Security in particular. He stressed that these achievements reflected efforts, responsibilities, and unity of the committee as well as the effective management of the Standing Board of the N.A. Committee for National Defense and Security.

On behalf of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee, N.A. Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong acknowledged and spoke highly of the achievements of the committee in 2021.

He urged the organ to continue embracing the Party’s resolutions and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in performing its functions, improving task performance in all sectors, and providing timely advice for the N.A. leaders on urgent issues of national defense and security.
