MR3’s new Secretary of Party Committee and Political Commissar receive duties
PANO - A ceremony to hand over duties of Secretary of Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 3 (MR3) was held on March 7 under the chair of permanent member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Director of the General Department of Political Affairs Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet.
Under the decisions of the Prime Minister and the CMC, former Political Commissar of Army Corps 12 Major General Nguyen Duc Hung is appointed Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Military Region 3, replacing freshly-retired Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Cuong.
Speaking at the duty handover ceremony, Gen. Quyet highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the Standing Board of the Party Committee and the Chain-of-Command of MR3. He also highlighted the sense of responsibility and thorough preparation of the military region’s affiliated agencies and units for this ceremony.
Gen. Quyet commended Gen. Cuong for his outstanding contribution to the military and MR3 building, the unit’s solidarity, and the task performance of the MR3’s affiliates. He hoped that during his retirement, Gen. Cuong continues to bring into play his capability and working experience, giving advice to the MR3’s Party Committee and Chain-of-Command to help them excellently complete their future assignments.

He asked Gen. Hung to strive to fulfill his new duties and responsibility, promote his exemplary role, the unit’s collective strength and solidarity to meet all assigned missions. Additionally, he should closely team up with local Party committee and authorities to build whole-people defense posture and strong people’s heart disposition and give support to ethnic groups in socio-economic development in combination with defense and security consolidation.

Given that the year 2025 is a year of speeding up and making breakthroughs in task implementation, Gen. Quyet urged the MR3’s Party committee and Chain-of-Command to keep a close eye on situations, pro-actively make proposals on military and defense task performance, creating breakthroughs in science and technology development, renovation, creativity, and digital transformation.
