Addressing the event, Gen. Cuong expressed his pleasure at the province's achievements over the past time and thanked the local authorities for paying attention and creating favorable conditions for the armed forces in the area to fulfill their military-defense tasks. The Deputy Defense Minister hoped that the provincial Party Committee and local authorities and the armed forces stationed in the area will continue to closely coordinate with each other, promote the achieved results, make breakthrough changes in socio-economic development and defense security, and help policy families improve their living standards.
At the provincial Military Command and the Military Command of Duy Tien Town, Gen. Cuong also praised the achievements of troops last year and asked the units' commanders to continue to thoroughly grasp and maintain combat readiness, increase mass mobilization activities, ensure political security, social order, safety in the area, and help the troops enjoy a happy New Year.
On the occasion, the delegation visited and presented Tet gifts to wounded and sick soldiers at the Nho Quan Convalescent Center.
*A delegation of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army inspected and extended Tet greetings to units under the General Staff in the Central Region. Addressing the event, Major General Chu Van Doan, head of the delegation, praised the units' task fulfillment recently and asked them to strictly observe State’s laws and military disciplines, regularly take good care of troops, and organize a happy and cozy lunar New Year.
*The Logistics Department under Military Region 4 in association with the Nghe An Convalescent Center for Wounded Soldiers held a program for wounded and sick soldiers at the center. Accordingly, 25 staff and soldiers organized various activities and cleaned up the center's environment to welcome the upcoming Tet holiday.
*On the occasion of the Lunar New Year festival (Tet) 2020, a delegation of the Military Command of Quang Ngai province visited and presented gifts, worth VND 1.5 million each, to families and relatives of troops who are on duty in Truong Sa island district (Khanh Hoa province).
*A delegation of the People's Army Newspaper (PAN), led by Senior Colonel Phung Kim Lan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, in collaboration with the Thien Tam Fund of Vingroup presented Tet gifts to poor people, and policy beneficiaries in Hung Xuyen commune, Doan Hung district, Phu Tho province.
The gifts demonstrated the sentiment of the PAN reporters for needy people on the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year Festival). This is a regular activity of the PAN and the Thien Tam fund to encourage the poor and disadvantaged people to have a happy Tet.
