On January 7, Vice National Assembly Chairman General Do Ba Ty led a mission to visit and present gifts to needy officers and workers at Factory Z111 of the General Department of Defense Industry. Praising outstanding achievements obtained by the factory in 2019, the Vice National Assembly Chairman asked the unit’s leadership to pay due attention to raising the staff’s and defense workers’ living standards for the upcoming Tet festival.

On the same day, a mission of the Ministry of National Defense, led by its Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, visited and extended New Year greetings to troops of the Bac Kan provincial Military Command and Division 346 of Military Region 1.
Acknowledging the units’ achievements, General Truong asked them to foster information dissemination and education to help troops embrace their missions, make good preparations for the Party congresses at all levels, and organize happy and safe Tet activities. They were also instructed to prepare for this year’s training season.

In Tay Ninh province, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics, checked the task performance of the Border Post of Phuoc Tan Border Gate of the Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command and Regiment 174 of the provincial Military Command and wished them a happy Lunar New Year festival.
To meet higher border task requirements in the coming time, General Nghia asked the units’ Party Committee and Chains-of-Command to focus on raising troops’ professional competence while accelerating the implementation of the movement, themed “Promoting traditions, contributing talent, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers.” They were asked to closely follow situational developments in border area to make timely recommendations to higher levels to deal with incidents and conduct external relations activities to build a borderline of peace and cooperation. In the short term, the units should pay attention to encouraging and raising the material and spiritual lives of the troops on duty during the upcoming holiday and the families.
On the occasion, the mission offered incense at Commemorative Stele 36 dedicated to Phuoc Tan Border Post’s fallen soldiers who laid down their lives during the Southwestern border protection war.
Another mission of the General Department of Politics, led by its Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, visited units of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, Brigade 962 of Military Region 9, and bureaus of military press agencies in Can Tho City.
At the meetings, General Can spoke highly of the solidarity among their troops and efforts to successfully fulfill all assigned missions. He urged the units to apply recorded results to raise the quality of core political missions. In the short term, they should cooperate with relevant agencies to enlist recruits while making thorough preparations for the training season in 2020.
General Can requested them to embrace directives and resolutions on holding Party congresses at all levels, toward the 13th National Party Congress, while promoting political and ideological education for troops and heightening training quality and combat readiness capabilities, especially before, during, and after the Lunar New Year.
Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics Lieutenant General Le Hien Van also lauded the achievements obtained last year by the Military Region 4 Command, Flotilla 102 of Coast Guard Region 1 Command, Cua Lo - Ben Thu Port Border Post, Air Defense Brigade 283, Artillery Brigade 16, Regiment 3 of Division 324, and the Thanh Hoa provincial Military Command during his visits to the units.
He asked the Party Committees and Chains-of-Command to effectively carry out ideological education and management, take care of troops’ material and spiritual lives, conduct gratitude activities for national contributors and policy beneficiaries in localities where they are stationed.
On the occasion, General Van handed over the Central Military Commission’s, the Defense Ministry’s, and the General Department of Politics’ gifts to the units’ troops and wished them happiness, good health, and more success.
