After being briefed on Ministry of National Defense’s task performance in September and orientations for October, General Phan Van Giang praised the high responsibility and determination of leaders, commanders, officers and soldiers in the whole military in task accomplishment in September.

Particularly, the whole military has strictly maintained combat readiness posture; closely followed situations to pro-actively make recommendations to higher levels to address circumstances in a timely and effective manner; coordinated with other forces to ensure political security, social order and safety in localities throughout the country.
Meanwhile, units and agencies in the whole military have strictly controlled illegal border crossings; prevented illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing; effectively implemented natural disaster prevention and control, as well as search and rescue work; mobilized thousands of troops and militiamen and hundreds of vehicles to surmount the consequences of flood and landslides in Lao Cai province and other localities.
The whole military has also paid attention to conducting training activities and exercises to meet task requirements in the new situation; focused on political education and ideological orientation; stayed ready to complete all assigned missions; effectively carried out defense relations and international integration work; and ensured logistics supplies and technical services for missions, among others.
Regarding task orientations for October, General Phan Van Giang required leaders and commanders at all levels to thoroughly grasp situations to synchronously implement effectively measures to fulfill set targets and plans. Attentively, agencies and units in the whole military should concentrate on strictly observing combat readiness regulations and closely follow situational developments to make effective recommendations to higher levels, contributing to firmly safeguarding national sovereignty and protect security and order in localities across the country.
In addition, the whole military should pay more attention to improving the quality of training activities, exercises, sports competitions and festivals at all levels; enhancing information dissemination to orientate troops’ thoughts; accelerating the protection of the Party’s ideological foundation; and actively combating wrongful allegations of hostile forces.
Still, agencies and units should make thorough preparations for the celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of General Doan Khue, the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, and the 35th anniversary of the whole people’s defense festive day, to name but a few.
Concluding the conference, General Phan Van Giang underlined that there will be many important events related to defense external affairs. Therefore, agencies and units should be fully prepared and effectively implement administrative reform, promote e-government and digital transformation in the whole military while heightening their responsibility and determination to fulfill all assignments.
