Mission of General Staff inspects military units
PANO - A delegation of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, led by its Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien, just inspected the task implementation's results in the first six months of 2019 of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command.
During the six months, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command has closely followed and well implemented the working plan of the Coast Guard Command in 2019.
Particularly, the unit has embraced and strictly implemented resolutions and instructions of higher levels, strengthened its solidarity in the unit, overcome difficulties, and fulfilled all assigned tasks.

Since the beginning of 2019, the unit has deployed 115 ships for tasks at sea, three ships for rescue missions, saved two trawlers and 22 distressed fishermen, effectively implemented the “Coast guards standing side-by-side with fishermen” program. Under the program, they spent VND 730 million on social activities such as visiting, presenting gifts, and providing free health check-ups for local people and fishermen.
On behalf of the Chief of the General Staff, General Tien recognized and praised the outcomes of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command in the first six months of 2019.
Regarding its tasks in the coming time, General Tien asked the unit to overcome shortcomings while continuing to promote education and training; raise troops' awareness, responsibility, and political stance; embrace political situations; well coordinate with other forces, especially with the forces operating at sea, in carrying out the tasks of protecting national sovereignty, and maintaining the law enforcement at sea.
