Military units and people respond to tree-planting festival
PANO – Submarine Brigade 189 launched a tree-planting festival themed “Forever Grateful to President Ho Chi Minh” in Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province, on February 17.

After the launching ceremony, the brigade planted more than 50 fruit trees, 25 Terminalia catappa trees, and over 5,000 Casuarina equisetifolia trees.
The unit also instructed its troops to take care of the newly-planted trees to beautify its barracks and build a green, clean, and attractive compound.
* In Ly Son district, Quang Ngai province, troops from Radar Station 550 of Regiment 351 under Naval Region 3 planted ten Barringtonia Asiatica trees and took care of 20 fruit trees of different kinds.
* On the same day, the Ba Ria – Vung Tau provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee launched a tree-planting festival.
Over the past years, the Party Committee, the provincial authorities, and the local people have responded well to the tree-planting festival. The festival serves to enhance the natural landscape as well as prevent natural disasters and climate change.
For the 2021-2025 period, the province has set a goal to plant ten million trees.
After the launching ceremony, participants planted 60 Dipterocarpus alatus and Hopea odorata trees in Phuoc Thuan protective forest (Phuoc Thuan commune).
