Delegates assessed that the second edition of this exchange, which took place in Moc Chau district, Vietnam’s Son La province and Sop Bao district, Laos’ Houaphanh province from October 22-23, continued to be an effective cooperation model that carries deep political meaning. The exchange, following the success of the first edition in Huong Hoa district, Vietnam’s Quang Tri province and Sepon district, Laos’ Savanakhet province in December 2021, received due attention and directions from the Central Military Commission and the MND.

The success of this exchange contributed to enhancing political trust, mutual understanding, tightening solidarity and close-knit ties between people and authorities of the host localities, and between the two defense ministries.
In his concluding speech, Gen. Chien applauded the MND’s affiliates for their pro-active preparation for the exchange. He took this chance to express thanks to ministries, sectors, departments, localities for their close coordination to ensure the success of the second exchange which holds practical significance and wide impacts.
He asked relevant agencies and units to continue to promote sense of responsibilities, close and effective cooperation; and ministries, sectors, departments and localities to pay attention to and support the organization of the upcoming 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day, and the second Vietnam International Defense Expo, as well as other important defense diplomacy activities.
