The meeting was presided over by the GDP’s Director, Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet.

At the event, reports and opinions emphasized that in May, the whole military carried out Party and political work in a close, synchronous, and focused manner, in close connection with military and defense tasks. Notably, all routine and unscheduled missions were successfully completed.

An overview of the conference

The highlights included enhanced political education, strengthened management of troops’ thoughts, improved training quality, particularly for recruits, pro-active dissemination efforts, and timely orientation of public opinion in response to new, complex, and sensitive developments.

During the reviewed month, agencies and units actively held activities to commemorate the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) and to celebrate the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution and National Day. Additionally, they advised on organizing all-level Party congresses towards the 14th National Party Congress while maintaining internal political stability, protecting classified information, and ensuring security and safety across the military.

In his speech, Gen. Quyet highly praised agencies and units for their recent accomplishments.

Regarding tasks for June, he emphasized that Party and political work should be closely linked to the management of troops’ thinking. Dissemination of the Party’s, State’s, and military’s policies should be intensified to help achieve consensus throughout the military and society. Issues concerning troops must be addressed promptly. He also urged further suggestions on military restructuring.

This month, agencies and units will continue organizing Party congresses at all levels and promote mass mobilization work to support people in ethnic minority, remote, and disadvantaged areas.

The GDP director called on agencies and units to advance digital transformation, improve task performance, and fulfill other responsibilities.

On this occasion, the GDP honored collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements during the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day and in promoting grassroots democracy in the military.
