General Department of Politics checks southern units

PANO – A delegation of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by its Deputy Director Major General Le Hien Van inspected the implementation of Party and political work of units under Military Region 9 (MR9) from October 21 to 24.

Since early this year, MR9 has effectively implemented directives of the Politburo and the GDP in combating “peaceful evolution” strategies of hostile forces in the cultural and ideological front; well performed personnel management; and successfully organized education and training courses for Party members, officers and soldiers.

In addition, officers and troops of the military region proactively grasped local political security situations, ensured defense and security, and collaborated with local authorities in maintaining social order and safety.

Speaking at the working session, Maj. Gen. Van applauded the military region’s achievements in implementing Party and political work and asked the MR9 Party Committee and Command as well as their subordinate units to continuously pay attention to training missions, combat readiness, and external affairs.

Additionally, the region should continue the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No.05 and the Central Military Commission’s Directive No.87 on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thoughts, moral examples, and lifestyle along with the campaign “Promoting traditions, devoting talents, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers”.

* On the same day, Major General Tran Hoai Trung, Head of the Department of Political Education and Information under the General Department of Politics had an inspection over the task performance of Infantry Division 2 under Military Region 5 and implementation of Party and political work and its plans for next year.

According to reports, the division will review its five-year achievements in implementing Resolution No.4 of the 11th Party Central Committee on Party building and Resolution No.765 of the Central Military Commission on improving the training quality in the 2013-2020 period and the following years.

Earlier, the delegation had had a working session at Regiment 1 (Infantry Division 2 of the region).
