According to Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, border troops have synchronously carried out combat readiness plan for the lunar New Year 2022 and have well practiced responding to possible scenarios. Apart from that, border guard agencies and units have effectively conducted the “Spring in border areas warms people’s hearts” program and other social activities.

They have also paid special attention to taking care of troops. In particular, border guard units, posts, and stations have ensured logistic supplies and hosted various cultural activities for troops before the lunar New Year.

Having listened to General Thai’s report, Deputy Defense Minister Le Huy Vinh asked the force to continue embracing resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, pay attention to protecting political security in border areas, and be ready to deal with circumstances.

While visiting the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh asked the force to seriously maintain combat readiness and closely cooperate with local Party committees, authorities, and forces to learn about local situations and give advice to higher levels to effectively deal with circumstances. He also urged the coast guard troops to accelerate guard and patrol to ensure absolute security and strictly observe COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control regulations.

At General Department II, General Vinh requested its troops to strictly maintain combat readiness during the lunar New Year holiday and hoped that they will bring into play the unit’s traditions to fulfill all assigned missions. He urged the department’s personnel to continue fulfilling their advisory role to the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense.
