Deputy Defense Minister inspects units in Ninh Thuan
PANO – A high-ranking military delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Defense Minister, visited the Ninh Thuan provincial Party Committee and checked task performances of units stationed in the province on June 19.

The delegation included Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Deputy Chief of the VPA’s General Staff.
The inspected units were the Dong Hai Border Post under the provincial Border Guard Command, Regiment 937 under the Air Defense-Air Force Service and the provincial Military Command.
After making field trips and listening to reports on the units’ task performances, General Giang hailed their achievements over the past time, particularly in actively recommending local authorities to conduct military-defense tasks.
The units also closely followed and well implemented resolutions and instructions of higher levels, overcame difficulties, improved the quality of their training and combat readiness, joined hands with relevant forces in maintaining local social order and security, and firmly protected national sovereignty in the their designated areas.
Besides, the Ninh Thuan provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee paid due attention to the implementation of the province’s military-defense missions, contributing to the building of a strong defensive area in the province.

Concluding the meetings with the units, General Giang asked them to further heighten troops’ political stance, revolutionary vigilance, and professional competence while working closely with local Party organizations and authorities to build a strong whole-people defense posture. He also asked the units to boost the building of a regular and disciplined unit, and always be ready for natural disaster relief, and search and rescue missions.
