At the event, Secretary of the Cao Bang provincial Party Committee Tran Hong Minh briefed General Giang on outcomes of the socio-economic development and defense-security mission of the locality over the past time. Accordingly, the provincial authorities and people implemented comprehensive measures to promote the locality’s potentials, reinforce the whole-people defense posture in line with the people’s security posture, and combine the defense-security tasks and the economic development.

Notably, the local forces ensured border security, internal political security, fought again border crime, maintained social order, and so on. In addition, the relationship between the authorities and sectors of localities along the Vietnam-China shared border line was increasingly reinforced.

Speaking at the event, General Giang congratulated the locality for their achievements over the past time and suggested several orientations for the local authorities and people to implement in the time to come. Also, he urged them to well prepare and successfully conduct the ongoing seventh Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

The defense minister required the provincial armed forces and military units in the locality to continue embracing higher levels’ instructions and directives, providing timely recommendations for the local leadership in directing military-defense missions. He noted that they should collaborate closely with the local public security force to grasp all situations and implement combat training plans as scheduled, contributing to firmly safeguarding important events in the province.
