General Giang recalled that in 2024, under the leadership of the CMC, MND, Party committees, and chains of command at all levels; the coordination of ministries and central and local agencies, local leadership; valuable support from the people, the whole military and militia force stayed united and made joint efforts to comprehensively fulfill 13 groups of tasks in 2024, contributing to the accomplishments of 15 groups of missions set in the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Military Party Organization. Notably, the military closely followed, accurately assessed, and forecast the situational developments and made timely recommendation to the Party and State to effectively handle circumstances, contributing to safeguarding the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the nation, and maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for the country’s development. The achievements of the military have been recognized and praised by the Party, State, and people.
The entire military has excelled in its role as a combat force, a work force, and a production force, with improved overall quality, strength, combat readiness capabilities; building strong all people’s defense and defensive areas; coordinating with other forces to ensure political security and public safety nationwide. Additionally, the military has effectively carried out the streamlining of the military.
In addition, the quality of training, education, exercises, competitions have been enhanced; regulations and discipline have been strictly maintained. Agencies and units in the whole military also actively participated in natural disaster response efforts. Furthermore, significant advances have been made in logistics, technical work, defense industry, diplomacy, science and technology, and digital transformation, building of a healthy, strong, and outstanding Military Party Organization.
The activities celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day, and the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 have left a lasting impression and garnered positive sentiments from the people and international friends.
In the Year of the Snake 2025, a year to fulfill the goals of the 13th National Party Congress and the 11th Military Party Congress, the Defense Minister asked the entire military to continue to promote revolutionary heroism, the glorious traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army and the heroic militia force, and the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" to complete all tasks excellently. He urged agencies and units to successfully organize party congresses at all levels within the Military Party Organization, obtain more achievements in building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, confidently step into a new era for the nation, living up to the trust of the Party, the State, and the people.
