General Giang recalled that in the Year of Buffalo, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, Party committees, and chains of command at all levels, the whole military stayed united and made joint efforts to overcome all difficulties to effectively fulfill assigned missions. The achievements of the military have been recognized and praised by the Party, State, people, and international friends.
Defense agencies and military units heightened vigilance and pro-actively studied, forecast, and accurately evaluated the situation and made recommendation to the Party and State to deal with circumstances in a timely manner, contributing to firmly protecting national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and creating a stable, peaceful environment for national socio-economic development.
The military continuously improved its comprehensively defense capabilities and the quality of combat readiness; conducted training and exercises in line with reality; took the lead in the COVID-19 prevention and control; built a strong Military Party Organization in terms of politics, ideology, morality, organization, and personnel and exemplary agencies and units.
General Giang affirmed that achievements obtained in 2021 demonstrated troops’ political responsibility before the Party, State, nation, and people.
In the Year of Tiger, the whole military will continue carrying out guidelines on military, defense, military building, and national protection in line with the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 11th Military Party Congress.
He urged the whole military to continue bringing into play the heroic traditions and revolutionary nature of the Vietnam People’s Army and trying its utmost to overcome all difficulties, hardships, and challenges to obtain more achievements, contributing actively to the national construction and defense cause and deserving to the trust of the Party, State, and people.
Concluding the letter, Defense Minister Phan Van Giang wished all officers, non-commissioned officers, troops, defense workers, reservists, militiamen and their families good health, happiness, and success!
