In 2022, the academy implemented a training program for all classes as scheduled. In addition, the academy organized competitions and handed over certificates of recognition to 60 lecturers who had won the title of excellent lecturers at the academy level; proposed to the higher levels to recognize nine excellent lecturers at the defense ministry level in the 2021-2022 academic year.
Regarding military science in 2022, the academy coordinated to review and approve a scientific research at the Defense Ministry level in 2020, six projects at the General Staff level; two topics at the General Department of Political Affairs level in 2021; 52 projects at the levels of institute, department, and faculty, as well as 53 academy-level projects.

Addressing the meeting with the academy’s leadership, General Phan Van Giang acknowledged, praised, and congratulated the school on its achievements in 2022. He underlined that the academy’s Party Committee and Board of Directors directed affiliated units to comprehensively renew education and training mission.

He urged the school to continue embracing the Party’ guidelines, the State’s policies and the Defense Ministry’s directives. Each Party member and leader should maintain good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, overcome hardships to fulfill all assigned missions, he added.

The defense minister also required them to proactively implement scientific research, combining basic and applied research, especially in-depth works, while fighting against wrongful viewpoints of hostile forces, protecting and developing Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, and the Party's viewpoints.
On the occasion, General Phan Van Giang planted a commemorative tree in the school’s precinct, and toured its training facilities.
He also extended Tet greetings to all cadres, teachers, cadets, and troops of the academy and presented gifts of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to them.
