The Duy Tien Convalescent Center for Wounded Soldiers was established in May 1957. Its personnel are taking care of 58 severely-wounded and sick soldiers from 16 provinces and cities nationwide. All wounded and sick soldiers have their working ability reduced by 81% or more and need care from the medical personnel of the center.

At the meeting with wounded and sick soldiers, General Cuong inquired after and shared difficulties with them. He also praised the center’s staff for overcoming adversities to take care of the wounded and sick soldiers, contributing to beautifying the traditions of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “gratitude” of the Vietnamese people.

The senior leader stressed that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense always pay much attention to gratitude activities with numerous meaningful programs. Notably, in 2022, the Minitry of National Defense has launched many programs such as building gratitude houses, presenting saving books to policy beneficiaries, he added.

General Cuong wished the wounded and sick soldiers good health and suggested them to continue promoting virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, becoming outstanding examples for their children and young generations. Also, he asked the center’s staff to embrace their missions, overcome hardships, maintain solidarity and give better care to wounded and sick soldiers in the time to come.

* Earlier, General Cuong attended a ceremony to inaugurate and hand over a gratitude house to Ngo Thi Tho, a martyr’s mother in Minh Luong Noi hamlet, Tien Ngoai commune, Duy Tien town, Ha Nam province. The house was built with a donation of VND 80 million from the Ministry of National Defense.

In addition, the deputy defense minister gave a sponsorship to the gratitude fund of Tien Ngoai commune and handed over 30 gifts to policy beneficiaries in the locality.
