Defense leader inspects combat readiness of air defense unit
PANO – On December 5, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Minister of National Defense, led a working delegation of the Ministry of National Defense to inspect combat readiness of Battalion 77, Regiment 257, Division 361 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service.
The delegation included Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army; and Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel).

During the inspection of on-duty troops, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh praised Battalion 77 for its sense of responsibility, professional competence, and high combat readiness. He particularly commended the unit for rapidly training, operating, and mastering newly-developed, upgraded, and domestically-produced equipment handed over by Viettel, which has significantly strengthened the unit’s capability and readiness to protect the nation’s airspace under all circumstances.

To ensure effective and safe operation of the new equipment, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh requested the Air Defense - Air Force Service to develop plans and conduct training to enhance operators’ skills, ensure proficiency in key procedures, and fully master the equipment’s functions. He also emphasized the need for strict management, maintenance, and technical safety of all systems, thereby improving operational readiness and combat capability, while guaranteeing absolute safety for personnel and equipment throughout training.
