The event also drew the attendance of members of the CMC’s Standing Committee, including Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) General Luong Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, and leaders of the General Staff and GDP.

During the conference, the participants discussed and approved draft reports and documents for the 11th Military Party Congress as instructed by the Politburo with comments from congresses of its affiliated party organizations.

The conference also aimed to review preparations for the upcoming 11th Military Party Congress, which is considered an important political event, marking more than 7 decades of construction and development of the military under the direction of the Party.

The 11th Military Party Congress is also the continuity of the glorious tradition of the military and to produce orientations for the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite, and gradually modernized military and a comprehensively strong military Party organization in the years to come.

Addressing the event, General Lich requested all participants as well as working teams in charge of the preparation and organization of the upcoming congress to heighten their sense of responsibility to make good preparations, contributing to ensuring the success of the 11th Military Party Congress.

* On the same day, the Defense Minister presided over a meeting of the CMC, with the participation of General Cuong and Senior Lieutenant General Giang, among others.

The CMC’s Standing Committee briefed the CMC on the 11th Military Congress’s draft documents as well as preparation work. The participants then shared their views on the contents and issues related to the organization of the upcoming Military Party Congress.

Concluding the conference, General Lich stressed, the upcoming Military Party Congress must serve as a model of a Party congress as Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong instructed. He requested, preparations for the congress should be made carefully.

According to the Deputy Secretary of the CMC, the success in the organization of congresses of all Party organizations in the military under the CMC has created favorable conditions for the success of the 11th Military Congress.
