PANO - Senior Lieutenant-General Do Ba Ty, Chief-of-the-General Staff and Deputy Defence Minister paid a working visit to Chemical Arm on February 2nd.

General Ty had a short tour to inspect the living and working places of the troops. He also visited the Museum of Chemistry and eyed science-technology products developed and modernized by the Arm.

Having been briefed of the Arm by Major-General Pham Quoc Trung, the Arm’s commander, General Ty highly appreciated the Arm’s achievements over the past years in combat readiness, training and creating high-quality products suited with the national conditions, contributing to ensure the provision of equipment for the army and other socio-economic sectors.

Also at the working session, General Ty asked the Arm to be more active in making use of advantages and recent achievements and making good its shortcomings to build a strong, comprehensive unit.

To come to this end, the Arm should better its quality in consultancy task and improve ability in response to chemical incidents to timely clean polluted environments and safely treat toxic chemical left in the war.

Besides, the Arm needs to concentrate on science-technology researches, weapon improvement, and good staff-building.
