In 2016, the two Military Commands have attached much importance to boosting the Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship, special solidarity, mutual understanding and comprehensive cooperation in contribution to ensuring political stability, social order and safety in each locality.
The two units frequently exchanged information so as to provide good advice for each side’s authorities to control free emigration; actively disseminated policies and laws and mobilized local people to observe the border regulations; and raised public awareness of and responsibility for building sustainable and comprehensive development along the Vietnam-Laos border line.
Accordingly, the two Military Commands committed to continue promoting the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and between Son La province and Luong Phrabang province in particular; exchanging experience in socio-economic development; building the armed forces of each province; training interpreters for each side; and maintaining the periodical briefing mechanism in the time to come.
