In any exercises, even the most challenging ones, of the sea phase, the Vietnamese frigate and its crew-members showed their capability, professional expertise, mastering of weapons and technical equipment, high command of foreign language, and close coordination.

In particular, in communication content, the Vietnamese combat staff officers smoothly received information and connected with other ships. In mobilization in formation, Frigate 016-Quang Trung maneuvered to the designated place on time while keeping good distance, direction and speed on request. Notably, in maritime logistics, the Vietnamese warship well maintained a distance of 50 meters from the Gharial of India on the starboard side in five minutes.

In addition, the 016-Quang Trung complied with the shooting instructions, maritime safety rules and avoided the risk of collision while practicing the content of saving people falling into the water, launching a canoe, and firing artillery guns at targets at sea and in the air.

At the lesson-drawing meeting on the command ship of India with the participation of captains of participating warships, a representative of the Indian Navy underlined that the sea phase concluded successfully and thanked warships for their active and responsible engagement.

The 016-Quang Trung reaches correct position in the maritime logistics exercise.

In his speech, Commander Vu Trong Tan, captain of the 016-Quang Trung, thanked the host for their hospitability, solemn reception, and warm feelings. The Vietnamese naval officer spoke highly of the host’s organization and meaning of MILAN 2022, considering it a good opportunity for navies to boost friendship, solidarity, trust, and mutual understanding for peace, cooperation, and development.

Talking with the People’s Army Newspaper’s reporters, Commander Nguyen Dinh Quan, Second-in-Command of Brigade 162 and Commanding Officer of the frigate in the sea phase, evaluated that in the exercise, troops on board the 016-Quang Trung demonstrated their competence, capability of mobilizing forces and handling situations at sea regardless of day and night, and close coordination among positions and with participating warships.
