This was following Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun’s participation in the state visit of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam from April 14 to 15, at the invitation of Party General Secretary To Lam and State President Luong Cuong.

Attending the farewell ceremony was Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.

During the farewell ceremony, both sides expressed their joy that the visit to Vietnam by Chinese Party Secretary and State President Xi Jinping had been successful, further deepening the strategic comprehensive cooperative partnership between the two countries. Both sides are now ready for the 9th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, which officially begins on April 16.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien appreciated the cooperation between the two Defense Ministries in preparing for the exchange program and expressed confidence that it would be a success, contributing to strengthening military cooperation, promoting friendship, solidarity, and substantive cooperation between border protection forces, local authorities, and people along the Vietnam-China shared borderline.

As planned, during the exchange program, Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun will participate in activities in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and Lang Son province (Vietnam) along with his Vietnamese counterpart General Phan Van Giang.
