The event was jointly held in Chieng Khuong commune (Son La province’s Song Ma district) and Dan village cluster (Huaphanh province’s Muang Et district) by the Son La provincial Department of Justice, provincial Border Guard Command, Public Security Department, Department of Foreign Relations, and Song Ma district and Laos’ Huaphanh provincial Department of Justice, Public Security Department, Department of Foreign Relations.
The activity aimed to enhance local people’s legal awareness; strengthen the friendship between the departments of the two provinces, thus consolidating the great friendship, special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos; actualize the cooperation agreements between Vietnam’s Ministry of Justice and Laos’ Ministry of Justice in the 2021-2025 period.

At the meeting, the two sides’ officials disseminated contents in Vietnamese and Lao to local people. Vietnamese orators presented such contents as the Vietnam Border Guard Law; regulations on border exit and entry; the Law on Drug Prevention and Control; regulations on civil status, nationality, marriage, and immigration; regulations on civil judgment enforcement.
Meanwhile, the Lao orators equipped participants with the Law on Nationality, guidance on marriage between Lao people and foreigners, border regulations, free migration, and illegitimate marriage in border areas, some articles on customs policies and trade fraud, and regulations on immigration in Laos.
