Vietnam young officers visit Laos’ Infantry Division 1
PANO - A delegation of young officers from the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) visited and held an exchange with the Lao People's Army's Infantry Division 1 in Vientiane on July 7 as part of the 2026 Vietnam-Laos Young Officers Exchange Program.
During the visit, the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of Infantry Division 1 provided an overview of the unit's development and highlighted its achievements in training, combat readiness, regularity building, and mass mobilization.
In an atmosphere of comradeship and brotherhood, young officers from the two militaries exchanged practical experience and lessons learned from carrying out grassroots-level missions. Discussions focused on Party building and political work, political and ideological education to strengthen officers and soldiers' resilience against malicious online information, ways to foster the initiative and creativity of young officers in learning and professional development, the application of information technology and digital transformation in unit management, and the organization of military youth movements tailored to the specific missions of individual agencies and units.
Held in an open and substantive spirit, the exchange enabled the young officers of both armed forces to share effective working methods and practical experience that can be applied in performing their duties.
Following the exchange, young officers from Vietnam and Laos planted commemorative trees on the grounds of Infantry Division 1.
