Vietnam, US bolster search and rescue cooperation
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Pham Ngoc Minh, Deputy-Chief-of-the-General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army received Major General Michael Stencel, the Adjutant-General of the US State of Oregon, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

At the reception on June 19 at the Ministry of National Defense’s headquarters, General Minh highlighted the fruitful development of the bilateral defense cooperation, together with the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership.
General Minh also believed that General Stencel’s visit to Vietnam would contribute to cementing the two countries and militaries’ ties in the coming time.
Thanking the leader of the General Staff of Vietnam for a warm reception, General Stencel informed the host of the outcomes of his earlier working session with the Vietnam National Committee for Search and Rescue, during which the two sides emphasized their good coordination, experience-sharing, information exchange and training cooperation to better their handling of search and rescue situations.
Speaking highly of the aforementioned meeting’s positive results, General Minh suggested the two militaries continue implementing fully all cooperation contents, including response to natural disasters, search and rescue and humanitarian aid, in order to improve each side’s capability, contributing to developing the bilateral defense ties on a par with the two countries’ partnership.
