Vietnam - U.S. defense cooperation to be bolstered
PANO - Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, on January 27, hosted a reception for Deputy Foreign Minister cum Vietnamese Ambassador to the U.S. Nguyen Quoc Dung.

During the event, General Chien congratulated Deputy Foreign Minister Dung for being assigned to the post of Vietnamese Ambassador to the U.S. He noted that the Ministry of National Defense (MND) appreciated the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in implementing international integration and defense relations affairs over the past time.
General Chien also expressed his hope that the cooperation between the two ministries’ relevant agencies would further promote Vietnam - U.S. defense cooperation in the fields of war legacy settlement, U.N. peacekeeping operations, military medical training, COVID-19 prevention and control, among others.
Meanwhile, the newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to the U.S. underlined that the defense external affairs work over the past time has been developed comprehensively and effectively, considered an important part in the Party’s, State’s and people’s diplomacy. He pledged to continue working closely with the MND in order to boost Vietnam - U.S. cooperation in the time to come.
