* At the reception for UK Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever, the guest said that defense cooperation between Vietnam and the UK has made great strides, especially in areas such as training and experience sharing between the two UN peacekeeping forces, training for naval and coast guard forces.
For his part, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh held that despite lower starting point, the Vietnam-UK defense cooperation has seen vigorous development, on par with the Vietnam-UK strategic partnership. The General hoped that in the coming time the cooperation would further thrive, especially in exchange of visits of defense leaders, defense policy dialogues, UN peacekeeping experience sharing, to name a few.
The host believed that in any position, Ambassador Giles Lever would always be a good friend of the people of Vietnam.

* The same day, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh received Senator Cory Gardner, Chairman of the Sub-committee on East Asia, the Pacific and International Cybersecurity Policy under the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
The Vietnamese general thanked the US for completing the dioxin detoxification project in Da Nang airport and coordinating the implementation of the same project in Bien Hoa airport.
In the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue on-going cooperation, including prioritized cooperation contents, such as search for US troops missing in action in Vietnam, UXO and Agent Orange/dioxin consequence relief, UN peacekeeping cooperation and experience sharing, etc. The cooperation will contribute actively to the Vietnam-US relations in general and defense relations in particular.

* Also on May 28, Deputy-Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh held a courtesy reception for Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Nadav Eshcar.
At the reception, Ambassador Nadav Eshcar held that defense cooperation is one of the important factors that contribute intensively and substantially to strengthening Vietnam-Israel relations. He confirmed that as the ambassador to Vietnam, he would do his utmost to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries and militaries.
Stressing that the bilateral defense relations have seen encouraging results recently, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh hoped that the two sides would further enhance substantial cooperation in areas, such as delegation exchange, training, search and rescue, defense industry, etc.
