He also expressed respect and gratitude to Vietnamese military instructors who are performing tasks at the UNISFA. Over the past time, they have contributed to training English for soldiers and improving the quality of education for local children.

Reportedly, during two terms in Abyei, members of rotations of Vietnam’s Engineering Company have made considerable contributions to improving local education sector, particularly in building new and upgrading classrooms, and handing over teaching and learning tools to teachers and students.

As part of activities in celebration of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 - 2024), the Engineering Company Rotation 3 sent a mission to visit and present gifts to students in the Catholic Parish of Abyei, and is expected to launch an informatics class on November 24.

Colonel Nguyen Thi Lien, who works as an officer in charge of civil-military coordination at the UNISFA, shared that these activities have helped widely spread the image of peace-loving Vietnam and contribute to fostering the development of Abyei.
