This is the 17th edition of LIMA since its inception in 1991. It is co-organized by the Malaysian Ministry of Defense and the Global Exhibition and Conference (GEC) Group on Langkawi Island, Kedah State, Malaysia. According to the organizers, this year's exhibition is the largest ever, attracting 860 exhibitors—including 426 international companies and 434 local firms from 24 countries—displaying maritime and aerospace products for both commercial and defense sectors, across a total exhibition space of 16,000 square meters. The event is expected to draw around 40,000 visitors.
During the exhibition, numerous aerial and maritime demonstrations are taking place, featuring 57 aircraft and 39 naval vessels from Malaysia and several other countries. LIMA 2025 also features seminars, exchanges, and defense trade signings.
LIMA 2025’s display themes focus on defense, space, maritime, aviation, unmanned technology, cybersecurity, electric aircraft, sustainable development, and education.
The participation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense in LIMA 2025 is a practical defense diplomacy initiative aimed at effectively implementing the policies of the Party and State on building and developing Vietnam’s defense industry toward autonomy, self-reliance, dual-use capability, and modernization.
