During the meeting with the Vietnamese delegation, the Governor of Luang Prabang province reaffirmed the strong relationship between the province and several Northern provinces of Vietnam, such as Son La and Dien Bien. According to him, in recent years, troops and people in the localities on both sides of the border have frequently organized exchanges, contributing to strengthening the bilateral defense cooperation and people-to-people exchange between the two countries.

The Lao official hoped that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense would continue to direct relevant agencies, units, and the provincial military commands to assist Lao provinces, especially Luang Prabang, through such activities as delegation exchanges, information sharing, and cooperation in combating cross-border crime and social issues. The provincial government of Luang Prabang promised to strive to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between the two sides.
The Vietnamese deputy defense minister acknowledged the positive results of cooperation between Luang Prabang and Son La and Dien Bien provinces. They have actively organized meetings and shared information and experience in conducting party and political system building, socio-economic development, and national defense and security consolidation. The two sides have actively supported each other during difficult times.
General Chien praised the military agencies and units of both sides for maintaining good cooperation mechanisms, which has resulted in timely exchange of information, effective coordination in addressing emerging issues at the border and successful joint efforts in combating cross-border crime.
Looking ahead, General Chien hoped that Luang Prabang province would continue to strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese localities, creating favorable conditions for military units and border guard forces in the province to enhance cooperation with their counterparts in Vietnam, contributing to the protection and development of a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Vietnam-Laos borderline. He also stressed the importance of continuing the revolutionary tradition, solidarity and friendship between the two countries and peoples.
The Vietnamese defense leader promised that the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam People’s Army would continue to support and create the best conditions for local agencies and units in Vietnam to strengthen comprehensive and effective cooperation with Lao counterparts, including units stationed in Luang Prabang.
On the occasion of Laos's traditional Bunpimay, General Chien wished Luang Prabang’s troops and people good health, success, and happiness.

During the visit to the Vietnamese Consulate General in Luang Prabang, General Chien hoped that the agency would continue to focus on promoting cooperation between the two countries and armed forces. He expressed confidence that the consulate's staff would remain united and fulfill all tasks assigned by the Party and the State, making further contribution to the development of a stronger, more stable relationship between the two countries.
