The talks were co-chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Hue municipal People’s Committee and Head of the city’s Steering Committee 515 Nguyen Chi Tai and Vice Party Secretary, Chairman of the People’s Council, and Head of Special Working Group of Laos’ Salavan province Siheng Homxomebat.

During the talks, both sides reviewed the advantages, challenges, and progress made in recent years in the search and repatriation of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who died in Laos. They also exchanged information on their current economic, cultural, social, defense, and security situation and agreed on several areas of coordination for the future.

Deputy Chairman of the Hue municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Chi Tai expressed deep gratitude for the enthusiastic and effective support from the Salavan’s Special Working Group, local authorities, and the people of Laos, who have provided valuable information and assistance to Team 192 of the Hue municipal Military Command. Thanks to their support, many remains, including those with identified names and hometowns, have been found and repatriated. Specifically, during the 2024-2025 dry season, 10 sets of remains were located and repatriated home.

To ensure successful outcomes for the 2025-2026 dry season and beyond, Tai hoped that Salavan’s Special Working Group would continue to direct its units, localities, and people to provide more information about burial sites and assist Team 192 in fulfilling its mission.

The Lao delegation receives gifts from the Hue municipal Military Command.

On this occasion, the Hue municipal People's Committee presented VND 30 million and other essential gifts to Salavan’s Special Working Group. The Hue municipal Military Command also donated two computers to the Lao side.
