According to a report delivered by Senior Colonel Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022, which took place from December 8 to 10 at Gia Lam Airport, attracted the participation of 174 defense industry enterprises from 31 countries and territories.
Products brought to the expo by enterprises were very diverse, including solutions, modern combat technology, personal weapons, models of military vehicles, armored vehicles, missiles, fighters, warships, and more.

The expo welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to deliver an opening speech, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and other ministries, representatives of local authorities and sectors to the opening ceremony to visit booths and watch the performance of the air force and commando force of the Vietnam People's Army. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the organizational work of the Ministry of National Defense.
Statistically, during the three days, the expo welcomed more than 60,000 people, nearly 10,000 officers and soldiers from military units and schools; 52 foreign delegations from 28 countries, including three delegations of defense ministers from Laos, Mongolia and the Czech Republic. The event was also an opportunity for the Vietnamese defense industry enterprises to expand cooperation with foreign partners and enterprises. There were 80 bilateral meetings between companies of the General Department of Defense Industry and foreign businesses and groups majoring in defense industry.
Regarding the media, 248 reporters from 76 domestic and international press agencies reported about the expo. News about the event was also regularly updated and shared on digital platforms and social networks, contributing to introducing Vietnam's defense industry and products, as well as the images of Vietnamese culture, country and people to international friends. The security work for the expo was strictly implemented, contributing to ensuring absolute safety.
Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan said that, under the sound leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022 was a great success, achieving the set targets and requirements. The coordination among relevant agencies and units was implemented effectively, contributing to handling all emerging situations. The fact that the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam successfully organized the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022 for the first time has created an attraction for regional and global defense manufacturers. The activities on the sidelines of the expo were very diverse, introducing many features of the Vietnamese culture and people, contributing to affirming the prestige and position of the Vietnam People's Army in particular and Vietnam in general in the international arena.
