PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy-Chief-of-the-General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, welcomed Colonel Weddy Widya, Deputy-Director of the Strategic Study Center of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, on October 19.
At the reception, General Nam spoke highly of the increasing development of the Vietnam-Indonesia friendship and traditional relationship.
Particularly, recent visits to Indonesia of Vietnamese Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Ngo Xuan Lich, Politburo member, Vice-Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister, considerably contributed to tightening the bilateral relations, including the defense cooperation.
For his part, Colonel Widya underlined that the two countries have enjoyed a sound bilateral relationship over recent times and also informed the Vietnamese host of the results of his meeting with the Defense Strategic Institute of Vietnam under the Ministry of National Defense.
General Nam valued those outcomes and emphasized that leaders of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army would create favorable conditions for the Defense Strategic Institute of Vietnam and the Strategic Study Center of the Indonesian National Armed Forces to further boost their cooperation.
