“Vietnam Coast Guards and friends” exchange program to take place in Hanoi
PANO – The Vietnam Coast Guard Command held a press briefing on December 1 to introduce the first “Vietnam Coast Guards and friends” exchange program.
Addressing the event, Major General Tran Van Xuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, held that the exchange program witnessed the participation of the host Vietnam Coast Guard, the Cambodia National Committee for Maritime Security, the China Coast Guard, the Indonesian Sea and Coast Guard, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency, the Philippines Coast Guard and the Thailand Maritime Enforcement Coordinating Center.

The program is expected to enhance mutual understanding, build trust and high consensus among the Vietnam Coast Guard and regional counterparts, especially neighboring countries and countries with sea borders.
This is also the basis for the deployment of external activities of the Vietnam Coast Guard in the time to come, with the goal of joining hands and contributing to building a sea of peace, prosperity, cooperation and development.

As planned, the first “Vietnam Coast Guards and friends” exchange program will take place in Hanoi from December 8 to 11. The event will feature major activities such as courtesy calls on the Vietnamese Minister of National Defense; bilateral meetings among the Vietnam Coast Guard and the regional counterparts; visits to the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2022; fact-finding tours to several historical and cultural sites in the Hanoi.
