On January 8, Major General Dam Xuan Tuan, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, chaired a conference to assign duties to Captain Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram ahead of her deployment to the U.N. Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). Her departure is scheduled for January 12, 2026. She will serve as a training staff officer at the MINUSCA Mission in the Central African Republic.

Capt. Tram (born 1999), an Assistant in the International Relations Division of Coast Guard Region 4, has successfully completed all training courses required by the United Nations. Since early 2025, the Coast Guard Command has sent five female service members for peacekeeping training in medical services, logistics, and civil affairs, and four of whom are currently serving on the UNISFA mission in the Abyei area.

At the conference, Major General Dam Xuan Tuan instructed Capt. Tram to be deeply aware of the mission's significance and to adhere strictly to military discipline, U.N. regulations, and the laws of the host country. He emphasized the honor and pride in demonstrating the bravery, intellect, and capabilities of the Vietnam Coast Guard in a complex international environment.

She was also urged to pro-actively study and exchange experience with predecessors, gain a solid understanding of legal knowledge, principles of external relations, and the customs and practices of the host country, in order to quickly integrate into the new working environment and successfully accomplish all assigned tasks.

The Deputy Commander also encouraged  Capt. Tram to actively participate in other meaningful activities to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam, the qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers," and the tradition of Vietnamese women among international friends.
