At the talks, both sides discussed the global and regional situation, as well as military, foreign policy and defense policy of each country.
General Chien hailed the remarkable achievements of the DPRK troops and people over the past time under the leadership of the DPRK Workers’ Party, headed by its General Secretary, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Supreme Commander of the DPRK People’s Armed Forces Kim Jong Un.

Emphasizing the sound cooperation between the two countries, Lieutenant General Kim Min Seop highlighted its consistent stance on developing cooperative relations between the two militaries.
Over the past time, the defense cooperation has been considered an important field to be taken care of and promoted by the two parties, states and militaries, including delegation exchange. In addition, they have also attached much importance to Party and political work, among others.
In the coming time, both sides will focus on boosting cooperation in various fields, such as delegation exchange, especially high-ranking level; organizing exchange on military culture and sports; and military medicine, to name but a few. Regarding the Party and political work, the two sides would continue to implement contents in the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two General Departments of Political Affairs, contributing to developing the bilateral defense relations.
On the occasion, General Chien sent the invitation of the Vietnamese defense leaders to the DPRK defense leaders to attend a ceremony marking the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA). He also conveyed the invitation of Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet to his DPRK counterpart to participate in the VPA’s 80th founding anniversary and invited Lieutenant General Kim Min Seop to the second Vietnam International Defense Expo in this December.
On the same day, the Vietnamese delegation visited a commando unit of the DPRK.
