For Viet Nam, the historic sites of the Monument to President Ho Chi Minh, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Mausoleum of Leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin in Moscow also evoke the depth of the traditional friendship between the two nations. Honoring the past helps deepen understanding of the value of peace today, thereby enabling both sides to continue nurturing Viet Nam - Russia relations and contributing to peace, stability and international cooperation.
Earlier, the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and the Office of the Vietnamese Defense Attaché in the country. Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang spoke highly of and expressed his sincere appreciation for the embassy’s active and effective support in implementing defense cooperation activities with Russia. He also called for closer coordination among the embassy, the Defense Attaché’s Office and relevant agencies of the host country to translate cooperation opportunities into concrete programs and activities. These efforts, he noted, would help broaden the scope of cooperation, strengthen political trust, and ensure the substantive and effective development of Viet Nam - Russia defense relations.
