The program was attended by personnel appointed as liaison officers and interpreters from agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense (MND), as well as military academies and schools. Instructors are experienced officers from the General Department of Defense Industry, the Military Security Protection Department under the General Department of Political Affairs, the MND’s Department of Foreign Relations, and the Department of State Protocol and Interpretation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General Nguyen Duy Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Relations and Head of the Protocol Subcommittee of the Vietnam Defense Expo 2026’s Organizing Committee, said that in line with the Party and State’s policy of expanding international defense cooperation, the MND successfully organized the first two editions of the expo in 2022 and 2024, both of which received positive recognition from domestic and international audiences.

The second edition in 2024 welcomed 66 international delegations, including defense and military leaders from 39 countries. A total of 242 domestic and international companies exhibited their products, while the event attracted more than 300,000 visitors.

The Vietnam Defense Expo 2026 is expected to welcome senior defense and military leaders from countries across multiple continents, along with major defense companies, corporations, and industry groups from around the world. Organizers aim to showcase Vietnam as a peaceful, developing, hospitable, and culturally rich nation. In this effort, protocol and interpretation services for international delegations will play a key role in ensuring the success of the event.

During the training program, liaison officers and interpreters will attend sessions covering the expo’s objectives and significance in Vietnam’s foreign affairs and military diplomacy activities; security and safety regulations; coordination procedures with security forces; protocol practices and key considerations in organizing and supporting international delegations; as well as the duties and responsibilities of escort officers, liaison officers, and interpreters, including practical experience in handling situations that may arise during the exhibition.
