During the visit, the commanding staff and crew-members of the HTMS Prachuap Khiri Khan will offer flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Monument Park; pay courtesy calls on leaders of the city, the Commands of Military Region 7 Command and Naval Region 2; and participate in professional exchanges between young naval officers of the two countries.

The ship’s crew will also join cultural and sports exchange activities with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 2, as well as visit local historical and cultural sites.

On this occasion, the Thai Embassy in Vietnam will organize an exhibition titled “Traditional Thai costumes,” along with Thai cultural performances and a photo exhibition on President Ho Chi Minh to mark the 136th birth anniversary of the late leader (May 19, 1890 - 2026). The events will take place at Nha Rong Wharf.

The visit by the Thai naval vessel aims to strengthen cooperation, mutual understanding and trust between the two defense ministries in general, and between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Thai Navy in particular. It is also a meaningful activity marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1976-2026).

HTMS Prachuap Khiri Khan is an offshore patrol vessel equipped with a range of modern systems and equipment.
