During the screening process, doctors and nurses discovered many diseases that patients themselves did not know about, then gave them more information about their diseases and further treatment. Local organizations highly appreciated the enthusiastic spirit and responsibility of the Vietnamese “blue beret” doctors, spotlighting the significance of the health check-up program organized by L2FH Rotation 5.

Reportedly, Major Tran Thuan Trang and nurse Nguyen Thi Thanh Hang from the L2FH Rotation 5 mapped out a concrete plan to ensure the success of the program. Trang and Hang, together with members of the Women’s Group, carefully wrapped each gift and made 50 liters of milk tea for patients and foreign medical staff. These deeds left good impressions on local people and international friends. Many people also expressed their hope that the hospital would soon return and organize more meaningful activities in the coming time.

The Vietnamese female doctors took the occasion to extend congratulations to their international female colleagues on the occasion of the International Women’s Day (March 8).

Bentiu is a poor township with political instability related to military coups. Local people mainly live on U.N.’s subsidies. Attentively, girls, elderly women and women are vulnerable groups needing special protection and care. Therefore, the U.N. highly value voluntary activities to support the community and take care of vulnerable people.

According to Doctor Nguyen Ha Ngoc, Director of the L2FH Rotation 5, the hospital pro-actively proposed units and agencies in Bentiu set up specific plans, and coordinate with relevant organizations to successfully organize the program.
