According to the GS’s leader, these milestones marked a new stage in the bilateral relations.
He also commended the Singapore Armed Forces for their contributions to Singapore's development and national defense, as well as their continued expansion of international cooperation, including practical and effective defense collaboration with the Vietnam People's Army (VPA).

Singaporean Defense Attaché to Vietnam Low Teck Loong at the event |
Since 2025, the defense ministers of the two countries have met four times to discuss issues of mutual concern and provide strategic direction for bilateral cooperation. Consultation and dialogue mechanisms, service-to-service exchanges, and military training have remained highlights of the defense relationship.
General Son expressed confidence that, guided by the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the goodwill of both sides, the friendship and defense cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore will continue to advance in a more substantive and effective manner.
At the event, Singapore's Defense Attaché to Vietnam Colonel Low Teck Loong reviewed the growth and achievements of the Singapore Armed Forces over the past 61 years. He emphasized that these accomplishments would not have been possible without the cooperation and support of international partners, including Vietnam's Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the VPA.
Expressing appreciation for the partnership with Vietnamese MND and VPA, Col. Low Teck Loong said he was confident that, with the strong support of both countries' leaders, bilateral defense relations would continue to deepen and expand.
