At the event, Colonel Su sent best wishes to the Cambodian side and highlighted the effective coordination between the Cambodian border protection forces and the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command’s affiliates in protection of land and maritime border, security and order maintenance in designated border areas.
The Vietnamese officer also emphasized the good tradition of sending delegations to congratulate each side on traditional new year, saying that it demonstrates their fruitful traditional ties fostered over the years.
Commanders of Cambodian border protection forces expressed their delight and thanks for the good sentiments and thoughtfulness of the Border Guard Command of Kien Giang province. They confirmed that it was a big source of encouragement for them and marked a good milestone in the foreign relations between the two sides.

Earlier, from April 6-9, a delegation of the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, led by its chief Senior Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh visited and extended Bunpimay wishes to the armed forces of Khammuone and Savannakhet provinces and Division 4 of the Lao Ministry of National Defense.
At the meetings, Colonel Binh hoped that the solidarity between the authorities, people, and armed forces on both sides of the borderline will be consolidated, contributing to building the Vietnam-Laos borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
Also at the events, the two sides informed each other on the local political, socio-economic, defense, security and COVID-19 situations, outcomes of coordination, joint border patrols, prevention of activities infringing upon territorial sovereignty, drug crimes, and maintenance of political security, social order and safety in border areas.

Over the past time, despite COVID-19, the Vietnamese border guard command has provided medical supplies for authorities, people and armed forces of Lao provinces of Khammoune, Savannakhet, and Champasak; and supported eight needy Lao students.
At the meetings, the two sides agreed to boost coordination and exchange with a focus on border patrol, border marker protection, crime and immigration prevention and control, COVID-19 fight.
In the coming time, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command will organize a Vietnam-Laos border friendship exchange at provincial border guard command level, and open border expertise course for 20 cadres of Khammuone Military Command.
