MND mission visits Lao Deputy PM and Minister of National Defense

Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan joined the mission.

On behalf of the Vietnamese mission, General San conveyed the regards of Vietnamese Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang to General Chansamone Chanyalath and all officers and soldiers of the Laos People’s Army.

During the visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, Gen. San presents a souvenir to its staff.

The Vietnamese general expressed his hope that General Chansamone Chanyalath will continue to pay due attention to and direct affiliated agencies and units to comprehensively and effectively implement cooperation activities according to the two defense ministries’ plan, thus spreading the relations between the two countries and militaries.

For his part, the Lao general confirmed that the Vietnamese mission’s visit was significant, especially in the context that the two parties, states, and militaries are organizing numerous activities in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic ties, and the 45th anniversary of the Vietnam - Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.

Stressing that the ties between Laos and Vietnam are close-knit, General Chansamone Chanyalath highly appreciated celebration and cooperation activities over the past time. He hoped that the cooperation between the two parties, states, and militaries will be closer, more effective, and substantive.

The same day, the mission visited cadres and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos and Vietnamese defense attaché’s office in Laos.
